Porsche enjoys unsurpassed prestige
A very special honour has been bestowed upon Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, on its key sales market, the US. Porsche has been awarded first place in a survey conducted among the nation's top earners asking which luxury automobile brand is the most prestigious. The manufacturer of premium sporty vehicles emerged victorious over its competitors from all over the world. The representative survey was carried out by Luxury Institute, New York, which questioned more than 500 households with a gross annual income of at least USD 200,000 and a net worth of at least USD 750,000.
According to the Luxury Institute, the reasons for the success of the Porsche brand are its "uniqueness" and its "exclusivity". In addition, the survey found that the brand is most frequently driven by people who are "admired and respected by others".
"We are delighted to be crowned as the most prestigious premium brand for the second time in a row," said Peter Schwarzenbauer, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America. "This goes to show that our product strategy is absolutely on the money."
The Practical Side of Owning a Boxster
Aside from their beauty and their exceptional performance, there is a practical side to owning a Boxster. Every so often, I feel I have to defend the purchase of this fine automobile when dealing with my wife. If it was up to her, I'd be driving a four door Honda Accord. Snooze. However she knows there are many worse things that I could get into and that's why she's been so supportive of my Porsche fanaticism for the nearly twenty four years that we've been married. My obsession has been pretty harmless for the most part as long as she never finds out about the exact cost of the repair bills on previous Porsches that I've owned.
As the head of procurement in my family, weekly grocery shopping is included as part of my responsibilities as a purchasing manager. Grocery shopping is my only chance for quality time with myself other than my weekly autotherapy (a wash and detail) with my Boxster. Most of the time I use my wife's SUV for this exciting errand, but due to conflicting circumstances, my Boxster was chosen for this task. After an hour at the Apex Target and two trunk fulls of groceries, I arrive home and spread all twenty five bags of groceries throughout the kitchen. Minutes later my wife arrives from her errand and much to her astonishment, sees a kitchen full of groceries with not a spare square inch of counter space. I quickly told her that it all came from my Boxster even with the passenger seat empty. She was impressed!
Feeling satisfied with my purchase approximately eighteen months ago, I reminded her that there isn't another two seater sports car on the market that has as much storage space as my Boxster! What a practical sports car!
